Card Table for Newborn Photography | Tiny Tot Prop Shop Inc.
We've been hearing a lot about newborn photographer's using dog beds and card tables lately so we decided to give it a shot ourselves for product photos!
Our space is SUPER limited so we went with a 34" card table from Canadian Tire. You may want to go with the 4 foot folding table.
Here's what you'll need:
- 34" card table or 4 foot folding table
- One 34" piece of PVC (48" if you're going with the folding table)
- Two 36" pieces of PVC
- Two 23" pieces of PVC
- Four PVC 3/4" Elbows
- For the folding table only: Four 3 inch, 1 1/4 diameter screws with matching washers and bolts.
- For the 34" card table only: Command Large Picture Hanging Strips (as heavy as you can find. I found 16lbs)
The PVC you'll need should be 3/4" and you'll need 2 of them. We asked an employee at Lowe's to cut them to size for us and he was happy to help!
You have a few different options for attaching the PVC to the card table. We were originally going to get the Command Large Picture Hanging Strips to fasten the PVC to the table, but we ended up having a few Velcro one-wrap ties (commonly used for keeping your cords nice and tidy) and they work perfectly fine for us. We used to for each side of the table.
After you've secured the 36" PVC to the card table you'll need to attach two PVC elbows to the end or each piece. Place the 23" PVC into the PVC elbows and then attach the final two PVC elbows to that. Finally, you will place the 34" PVC to connect everything and you're done!

*A few months after we made our card table we decided to go back and cut the 23" PVC down to 16". It works much better for us!*
Get yourself some sturdy clamps and your brand new card table is ready for newborns!
Assembly for the 4 foot folding table:
First, you will need to drill four small holes into the 36" PVC to reduces the risk of splitting. After you're done, you will need to drill the screws with the PVC into each side of the table.
After you've secured the 36" PVC to the folding table you'll need to attach two PVC elbows to the end or each piece. Place the 23" PVC into the PVC elbows and then attach the final two PVC elbows to that. Finally, you will place the 48" PVC to connect everything and you're done!

Thank you so much for the instructions! I purchased my 34” table today and used the pvc pipe from my bean bag stand and it’s perfect! My back and knees thank you as well!
